Dell Studio 15… headbanging tdx.sys BSOD – K9 Protection

Well i have been banging my head over the weekend on a Dell Studio 15. Hard drive failed so we replaced the hard drive and reinstalled Vista to the new hard drive. I was asked by the client to install some protection to protect the clients child from browsing any adult content. Previously i have used K9 Protection Available here….. So I installed k9 and avg along with service pack 1 and 2. Then went about testing the k9 package and it did what it was supposed to… Youtube was blocked.. Facebook blocked…. great then it crashed and gave a BSOD TDX.SYS 0X0000008e. Looking on the interweb i found lots about antivirus conflicts and about network card conflicts.  So i went about uninstalling AVG no change… updated all drivers no change… scratched my head a little bit like for 4 hours….. then decided to start uninstalling all programs installed and updates to try and identify the problem. I uninstalled K9 Protection first and hey presto I’ve been browsing the interwebs and watching #thevirtualrevolution on iplayer for the last 45 minutes and everything seems fine….. fingers crossed.
