More of my day…. avg 8 connection failed
So this machine i looked at today had avg FREE Version 8 on it. Every time i update the virus definitions we get the message. Unable to connect to server.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program sometimes i have seen this fix the issue. Not this time.
So i visited the AVG website and followed all of the recommendations on the site and none of them worked. Also scanned the machine for virus infections and spyware infections. Used Spybot search and destroy. Used highjackthis. cleaned up some things. uninstalled all old norton stuff that was left on the machine and ran malware bytes program and came up clear.
Tried to download manually and install seperatly the updates and that didnt work. There feels like there is something deep inside the machine that isnt working well.
I tried a rootkit scanner and that came back clear. but thats not to say that there isnt a rootkit on there.
I’m thinking there may be a reformat in order. I hate reformatting but sometimes that is the only way.
